By definition, a trailblazer is an individual who marks a path through a territory by leaving “blazes” – usually painted marks or carved notches – on trunks of trees. The trail may be one of many through oft-traveled terrain, or it may be the very first in an unexplored wilderness. Regardless, a trailblazer is a pioneer, a discoverer, an innovator – and usually a leader.
